Scorpions are the pest that makes Nevada different. They are nocturnal, they leave almost no trace, and they can flatten themselves through a gap the width of a credit card — a weep hole, a garage seal, the underside of a door sweep.

That is why a daytime walk-around finds so few of them. Scorpions fluoresce under ultraviolet light, so the honest way to learn how many are on a property is to go out after dark with a blacklight and look.

All In Pest Solutions treats scorpions the way they actually live on your lot: the harborage first, the food supply second, the entry points third.

What tells you scorpions are already inside

  • A sting with no insect in sight — most happen in bedding, shoes or laundry
  • Scorpions found in a sink, tub or shower, where the smooth sides trap them
  • Sightings after dark near exterior lights, which draw the insects they hunt
  • Block walls, wood piles, landscape rock and stacked pavers close to the house
  • Bark scorpions climbing — unlike most species, they can climb walls and ceilings

How we handle scorpions

  1. 01

    Night inspection under UV

Blacklight sweeps show where scorpions actually harbor on the property — the block wall, the rock bed, the shaded side of the slab — instead of guessing from daytime sightings.

  2. 02

Treat the harborage, not just the wall

Cracks, voids, weep holes, wood piles, rock and the perimeter band get the product. Scorpions are hunted where they sit out the day.

  3. 03

    Take away the menu

Scorpions follow crickets, roaches and spiders. Knocking down the insects on a property is a large part of knocking down the scorpions.

  4. 04

    Seal the way in

Door sweeps, weep screens, garage seals, utility penetrations and expansion joints — the gaps a scorpion uses are the same ones that let heat in.

Common questions

Are the scorpions in Pahrump dangerous?

Several species live in southern Nevada. Most stings feel similar to a bee sting. The Arizona bark scorpion is the one to respect — its sting can cause more severe symptoms, particularly for children, older adults and anyone with an underlying health condition. Seek medical advice for any sting that causes trouble breathing, a racing heart or numbness that spreads.

Why do you inspect at night with a blacklight?

Scorpions are nocturnal and their exoskeleton fluoresces under UV light. A blacklight sweep after dark shows you where they are actually living — a daytime inspection almost never does.

Can scorpions be eliminated in one visit?

One treatment knocks the population down. Keeping it down is a maintenance job, because scorpions keep migrating in from the desert around Pahrump. Most homes here stay on a regular service for that reason.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ryan at All In Pest Solutions on one of our home projects in Pahrump, and I highly recommend him. He was willing to go out to the property when we couldn't be there, helped coordinate services for the new homeowners, and worked with us to incorporate ongoing pest control service into the sale. As a home builder, it's important for me to work with service providers I can trust, and Ryan has proven to be one of those people.

I have a lot of animals on my ranch, along with wildlife (birds of prey) and I was concerned about other animals being poisoned. They use a bait that kills rats and mice, without being poisonous to other animals. They are well educated, punctual, and very reasonable with their pricing. I highly recommend them.
