Bed bugs are not subtle. They announce themselves with bites in a line, blood spots on the sheet, and a growing dread about your own bedroom.
The name is misleading. Bed bugs live in the mattress and box spring, and also in the headboard, the nightstand joint, the carpet edge, curtains, upholstery, cushions and any crack near where somebody sleeps.

Common questions
Do I have to throw out my mattress?
Usually no. Get it confirmed and treated first; an encasement often does the rest. Dragging an infested mattress through the house is a good way to seed another room.
How did I get bed bugs?
They travel — luggage, used furniture, a hotel stay, a visitor's bag. It has nothing to do with how clean a home is.
Will one treatment be enough?
That depends on how far along the infestation is. We will tell you at the inspection what it will realistically take rather than promising one visit and coming back for a third.
